Faiz Ahmed Faiz in Indian Jungle!!!

Maoist rebels in India listen to Faiz Ahmed Faiz poetry on their iPod!!!
Rebel wants to establish a communist society in various states in India. Bloody struggle resulted in thousands of deaths. Armed struggle is the route they follow, they are called revolutionary Marxists, and some call them anarchist and social bandits. Dawn newspaper shares an interesting story “ Comrade Sukhdev asks if he can download the music from my Ipod into his computer. We listen to a recording of Iqbal Bano singing Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s ‘Hum Dekhenge’ (We will Witness the Day) at the famous concert in Lahore at the height of the repression during the Ziaul Haq years. Fifty thousand people in the audience in that Pakistan begin a defiant chant: Inqilab Zindabad! Inqilab Zindabad! All these years later, that chant reverberates around this forest. Strange, the alliances that get made”.
Here is Faiz's famous poetry Hum Dekhein Gay;

My Love For Omar Khayyam !!

I came across Persian Poet Omar Khayyams Rubaiyat, preaching about living each day instead of worrying for future. His writings remind me the words STOP WORRYING AND START LIVING. His message is very powerful message and is still valid. Omar Khayyam, Iranian poet, philosopher, mathematicians, astronomer born in 1048 AD. His work translated by Fitz Gerald in English, making his work available for rest of the world. Here is his powerful Rubai, living life in Today instead of worrying for tomorrows reward. Alike for those who for TO-DAY prepare, And those that after a TO-MORROW stare, A Muezzin from the Tower of Darkness cries "Fools! your Reward is neither Here nor There." Ah, fill the Cup:—what boots it to repeat How Time is slipping underneath our Feet: Unborn TO-MORROW and dead YESTERDAY, Why fret about them if TO-DAY be sweet! One Moment in Annihilation's Waste, One moment, of the Well of Life to taste— The Stars are setting, and the Caravan Starts for the dawn of Nothing—Oh, make haste! How long, how long, in infinite Pursuit Of This and That endeavour and dispute? Better be merry with the fruitful Grape Than sadden after none, or bitter, Fruit. To celebrate his writing there are various active Omar Khayyam Fan Clubs, they meet and share his writings.

Material World is the Order of the Day

Here is my first ever poetry, rather poetic words beside my blogging; giving it a try :)
Material World is the Order of the Day
Quest for material is the order of the day I don’t listen, but explore my own ways It may sound bold in many ways It may sound strange in many ways World influences me and makes me
Follow the order of the day I don’t listen, but explore my own ways People raise eyebrows & keep me at bay I don’t listen, but explore my own ways Be it relationship, be it love Everything is subject to materialism Be it friendship, be it companionship Everything is subject to materialism Be it happiness, be it sadness Everything is subject to materialism I at times question to get the answer I explore the meaning of life I explore the meaning of happiness I explore the meaning of death I explore the meaning of sadness I explore the meaning of friendship I explore the meaning of hatred Every meaning leads me to material world Every meaning leads me to material chase Quest for material is the order of the day I don’t listen, but explore my own ways I don’t find happiness in outer world I’d rather explore the inner world I find chaos in outer world I find peace in inner world Quest for material is the order of the day I don’t listen, but explore my own ways It seems a life long journey on the path of quest I would follow my path & I won’t detest
It may be long, it may painful Quest for material is the order of the day I don’t listen, but explore my own ways
