Karachi City Wakes Up Horny!!

It was an early morning drive from Sea View Clifton to my office, I saw a woman “maid”, waiting for bus, all of sudden one car stopped then a bike, asking her to sit, she refused but stranger guy was adamant. I passed by but disturbing thoughts occupied my mind because it was not the first time, every now and then any girl/woman is standing for bus, guys on bike, descent men in the car stop to try their luck for free sexual ride in the so called Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

One may not deny that generally prostitutes hunt customers all across the city streets but it does not mean every other girl/woman is a slut & looking for customers.

Frequent slut hunting adventure made me believe that Karachi ‘city of light’ wakes up horny.

Such harassment forces girls/woman to stay back home instead of contributing to economy because city is invaded by sexual animals available in all forms, on bikes, cars, wearing jeans and t shirt, scary kameez shalwar to tie and suit.

For Pakistani men, interesting pass time in social gathering is to talk about women, their body and share their sexual encounters to fantasies, I still remember my friend LIZ’s 'oppressed societies suffer from malaise of social abnormality'.

Sex is natural but waking up horny to everyday social discussions, everything revolves around women & sex, to me it is sick, disgusting and abnormal behavior.

Every other woman in Karachi has untold stories, be it child abuse to harassment at work. My female friends shared many horrific stories, such as teachers pushing for sexual favors for better grades, treatment as sex object at work rather than a thinking employee, from staring to pinching body parts in buses to markets.

Now the questions comes in my mind, will sex education ever help medieval sexist societies to change or more freedom is the answer such as, one may see the case of changing liberal cities in Morocco, marching from social oppression to more freedom and normal behavior.

Another disturbing thought always comes in my mind, why morality only revolves around women. Let me share powerful words of Ensler’s she says “womens’s empowerment is deeply connected to their sexuality”, she further says “I'm obsessed with women being violated and raped, and with incest and all of these things are deeply connected to our vaginas."

Woman is treated like an object, is it because we live in sexist male dominated society? Or religious interpretation empowers men to dominate or mistreat women???

I am clueless, can anyone helps me understand the reasons ??

I think Its because of the fake holy attitude we wear up our sleeves. And when one is shut down or brought up in a''sick'' environment, that's what he or she grows out to be...

i beleive more often bad economical society leads and force the women towards illegal sex and prostitution. though there are also many more factors which contribute sexual enhancement.

It has nothing to do with religion but self-control and authority [except the fact that islam prohibits such actions]. If the right authority is established to protect women in pakistan then there would much less horny men in karachi.

There was a case of a school girl called Ruchika Girhotra in India who was molested in 1990(not raped) by a senior police officer Rathore. Rathore was well protected by the state government. The parents of the girl filed a case, which ultimately led to the expulsion of the girl from her school, and the expulsion of her elder brother, the girl saw herself as the cause for all the sufferings and killed herself. Today 20 years later, his medals have been ripped off and is being publicy disgraced by the media.

well i dont agree with you. i m a khi-iet and a girl too. i have never faced any such thing. i have been living here since my birth but have never encountered such horrible thing!
i think there are some ppl who over- exaggerate things and its really very irresponsible of them!
Those who can write have power and a bit of influence over others too,so we should use it positively.
Media is enough to create a bad impact of Pakistan before all the world. So, why have you chosen to be the right hand of media?
listen good and bad things are everywhere in every society.there must be so and so ppl here too but they are like salt in flour, even more less!

Well i m so hurt and disappointed to stumble across your blog! such a shame you are!
STOP DEFAMING PAKISTAN! your blog is horrible!
you like to EXAGGERATE!
man grow up and come out from one topic! i browsed through your blog and it is revolving around only one topic!you seem mentally sick yourself,& calling others sick! cant you see anything else except s**???

Imran Baloch said...

Well, I don’t write to make people happy, if you disappointed, you may choose not to visit my blog.

I am not defaming Pakistan; I write what happens around, if reality is horrible, I can’t help it.

You have right to have your perception, you may perceive my writings as exaggerated but there are many who appreciate.

Well, I guess you have not scanned my blog; it addresses diverse topics, from travel story to sports, society, music, movies, woman, religion, politics etc.

Well, who has given you authority to conclude that I am mentally sick, what do you call a society that perceives women as SEX OBJECT, harasses and abuse them???!!!

You may not have experienced the harassment but there are so many who have.

I guess there is something wrong with your approach, I guess you should take up courses at good university where rationale debate takes place and tolerance is taught!!!!

lol! i ahve no authority neither i claimed any!
May be it has happened with some of your family-lady that is why you are so sure about such happenings!
You are just not aware that how much bad impression your blog is giving to all non-Pakistanis.If this all had been true, i would definitely not oppose but ur blog give others an impression that Pakistan is all about s** only!and that is what i Condemn!!

There is nothing wrong with my approach but there is something definitely wrong with yours! you seem over-confident!about good-courses lol lol! i belong to MEDIA and i know more whats happening in Pakistan and how ppl like you are exaggerating it to create confusions!

Well, yes you did behave as if you have authority to do so, such as you branded me SHAME, SICK….its uncivilized behavior, you should admit.

Well, It has happened to many females, I am equally concerned with someone who suffers either she belongs to my family or someone else.

Give it a try, you stand alone on the road, you will figure out how many cars and bikes will stop, assuming you A WHORE.

Pakistan’s image, what image!!! Just step out of Pakistan, travel across the globe you will get to know.

I am here to share the reality, whatever I see or experience I write.

I guess you haven’t explored my blog, you will find posts other than Pakistan or sex. In reality, we are sexually frustrated, oppressed and sick nation, you may deny but yes we are!!!!

I am not here to prove or disprove your approach; I am just sharing my thoughts.

Academic discussions are not about proving someone wrong or right, however, your attitude shows that. I am sad to see kind of low profile, intolerant and academically hollow students are being produced by our universities.

Pakistani media, I am aware of JUNK Urdu media, I have enough publications in local as well as international papers on various issues, I understand what it is all about.

I know media people well, generally they believe that they know what is happening in Pakistan, let us take the case of Balochistan; many experts appear on TV, without knowing the culture, history, issues or even geography come up with hilarious analysis.

I am clear in my thoughts, in general Pakistani’s are confused , read this http://scepticlife.blogspot.com/2009/08/pakistan-story-of-confused-person.html you will get the answer.

I think Illitracy , lack of Common sense and most of all bad economic situation for several years has led to this ,Its no secret that young man who are busy ( working full time or other activities) keep away from these kinds of troubles , unfortunately 20 yrs of bad governance has led to young men being unemployed hence not being able to get a job or buy a house or get married , it adds to the frustration , I know cause i was one of them .

Hey Imran, thanks for standing up for women.Few men do and those who do are real heroes.Thank you for being one, women need heroes to tell their part of the story .So many of them are damned to a life of misery, poverty, bias and serve as an object of male fantasy .They are the ones who are protected by imposing silly dress codes on them and in the privacy enduring worst forms of imaginable torture and inhumanity.Yet alas! most of them never have a voice to speak for themselves, most have been taught not no and some like one of your commentators believe that just because something did not happen to them it does not exist. There are good and bad people all around that is true but unless we start reporting the bad ones nothing is ever going to change. And thanks Imran for being a art of that change for the good.

I am in no way trying to demean your country I am just trying to understand. So I ask if honor killings happen in Pakistan and also if women are free to control their sexuality or are they expected to remain virgins until they are married! This is a very complex topic and I feel that many factors contribute to how a society handles sex and womens rights! I cannot understand how men can sexually harass women yet expect their sister or daughter to remain a virgin, aren't you harassing someone else's daughter? On the other hand if a man cannot get married because of certain factors he will become sexually frustrated, the truth is men want sex and the truth is women do to this is natural! I really don't know what the answer is but I do think that women should have the right to control their own sexuality and that they have a right not to be harassed by men.I do understand mens frustrations too though!

ReeBz: Where do you live? In an ivory tower? DO you have your eyes open? It's obvious you are deprived of all intellect but don't you have any senses left at all? It's such a shame you call yourself a woman. I agree with Imran that it's a shame our education system is producing idiots like you! Look around you! See how our women are suppressed. Just brushing under the carpet is neither going to help women or Pakistan. Understanding and recognizing the problem is half the solution. Hising it and saying it's all over the world would only enslave you to your own ignorance. Meanwhile, get an education, please. Literacy ain't gonna be enough babe!!

Check this out www.edesibabes.com and go through the comments. By our own dear brethren. You will get a measure of deep sexual frustration, repression, and lack of exposure amongst our men.

But these same guys will probably subscribe to the medieval view (and of another geography, definitely not the Indus culture we must really be cherishing) that women should stay home, be in burqa, shold be stoned, should be forced into marriage, are objects....or some such primitive ideologies. Because, they say, their religion prescribes it. Which religion is that, pray tell me?!?!

Are you frikkin' telling us that women are free and emancipated in our country? Take our neighbors: in every village in Sri Lanka or India or Nepal, women drive bikes, cars, etc and go to colleges, work, etc. by themselves - even at late at night, whatever their religion, caste, etc. It's not perfect there but they are more free to do it and the sexes are not so terribly segregated. Can you dream of a Sania Mirza in our country?

BTW, if you don't want to stand at the bus stop as Imran suggested, why don't you put your picture up on edesibabes.com and see what kind of comments you get? Post it there and come back here and we'll continue this discussion. Otherwise, just leave it to reasonable people to discuss it rather than exhibit a FALSE and MISPLACED sense of pride about our country!!!

I m not at all shocked to see such stupid comments here dear Imran, off course your readers are like you!

Anonymous,
DONOT provoke me,According to whom you follow here using words SICK and SHAME is an uncivilized behavior than Imran would you mind telling me What is calling some one IDIOT ??You are educating audience here, but how uncivilized is your audience, check it out too!
Secondly, good and bad people are everywhere, putting your pics on the internet is like inviting all and everyone to comment as they desire! i just said that it is not so common yet in Pakistan and it doesnt happen openly on the roads.
Whatever Mr Imran says its his will. he is entitled to his own opinions and so do I!

ReeBz said...

Secondly, i have traveled alone many times like other girls and women but By God nothing happens with me like this EVER!! don't know where do YOU livE! may be near some "red-light area" so its not anything shocking to find such attitudes and people there!!
@ anonymous, you will be happy to see your family girls and women driving bikes, and you call it broad mindedness and modernization, then plz take the first step!
I'm pretty amused by your comments, in Pak and lets talk about khi i have seen many many girls driving cars by themselves, my own sis drives and i found no restriction from my family and none of my friend ever complains too!
Pakistan is a Muslim country and Islam doesn't force women to stay at home, as far as you are following Islam and keeping the dress-codes in mind, girls can go out, can get high education! and believe me majority of Pakistan is open minded and awareness is there now.
just talking about few bad-happenings and exaggerating them to prove that they are common here is not a good attitude!

rebel said...

Whats happening here !!
Take a chill pill..

btw, saying that theses kind of incidents happen near Red-Light Area is really strange bordering on absurdity..

I m Female. I ahve seen such incidents happening in Gulberg,Lahore.and if the blogger is talking about this happening in Pakistan, that does not mean it doesn't happen anywhere. And why are you so concerned about IMAGE abroad..Does it matter?
And just by saying that everything is fine in our country,we are not going to make Pakistan a better place to live..the facts will not change By digging the head in the sand like an ostrich..
As for driving, please women ,ride the motor bikes in Pakistan, we will be ogled upon and comments will be passed ,no doubt.. But i think we should do that..

I agree with what Areeba said.
This post has been written crudely and from an EXTREMELY critic point of view. Extremely exaggerated i must say.

Anyway, i feel that the author is also one among those people who wake "horny". Just look at the rest of his posts e.g. the one about Golf etc. It shows how much thought he has given over such issues.

So it's better to look down in one's own collar before criticizing the whole of Pakistan.
Regards.

..........
P.S. I do not say that such people are not present anywhere, of course there are black sheeps everywhere, but reading your post made the situation seem exaggerated and worse than it is. That's the problem with most of the writers, they exaggerate and twist the true situation to make people biased towards their point of view.
...
I know that the author and readers of this blog will not agree with what i said, but i still said it because i wanted to express my point of view. Moreover, Caryle has said "Ninety nine in a hundred people, are idiots"
I don't care whether majority agrees with me or not, i have my own intellectual point of view.
Regards.

What a great shame and pathetic mentality!! I am sick and tired of your sorry ass self-flattering of Paki-image in abroad. And with regard to Paki image, there is NONE sweetheart. So all of morons stop talking non-sense and thank Imran for his audacity and advocacy for women.

I am not pakistanian and I have never lived there but I can imagine the situation. You describe it well!!
It is the same in Tehran but here only car drivers ask for such things not bike drivers and passengers !!! I think this is the same in all third world and especially islamic countires. It is a kind of crisis!!!!

I have lived in the US for almost 8 years and there believe me sex for them is just like having snacks or munchies.

I have witness a story wherein a 79 year old male had sex with a 10 year old girl, when arrested he said he just wanted to test his "schlong".

I have seen 10 and 11 year old girls having babies, a good customer of mine used to walk on his toes in a funny and almost like a kangaroo manner, when I asked his friend I was told that he was constantly raped by his own father. I have met a girl who's father was his baby's father.

I have seen that a mother literally snatched her daughter's boyfriend - I have met the brother who was "nuking" his real brother's wife. I have seen a niece literally kicked her aunt outa the house as she was "doing" it with her uncle.

SO????

Asif Ali said...

So for them, sex is like just going to candy store or having a subway.

Oh yeah, you must have heard that women are being raped, in Greenspoint (Houston), they have started to rape the boys, yeah boys. So I guess the Atheists have better sexual hunger than Muslims??? So you think that living like an animal is better???
Hmmmmmmmmmmm

You want some sick shit, here we go:

At my store in Humble, Texas, in our cooler we "experienced" some sticky shit. We installed a CCTV, on wednesday the delivery boys came never knowing that they are being spied upon.
